Leadership on a different level
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” II Chronicles 16:9a
Scripture is packed with leadership wisdom. In recent events we have seen leaders of nations put in place in seeming opposition to the popular opinion. And, yes, at times we see God working His purposes through people that don’t even know Him.
A key in Biblical leadership is however to have a heart that is perfect toward God. This is what releases the heavenly blessing that will manifest God’s power on earth. Scripture is filled with examples of people that did all they could to position themselves among men, but ended up failing in God’s perspective. Though we often cherish the democratic perspective, and granted, it does have some validity, at the end of the day it is God who appoints leaders. This largely relates to the character of the people. A people void of Biblical character is prone to work against God’s purposes, and though there are times when God allows a nation to experience the consequences of their actions, He is also caring enough to set in place the right leadership at the right time. Biblical character recognizes God’s purposes and then God can also entrust this to His people.
The point here is, don’t work to set yourself among people. Work to be a person who has the favor of God and He will do unimaginable things on your behalf. This is the reward of a yielded life.
