Five-fold ministry in Ekklesia
God’s aim is to fully restore the rule and reign of His Kingdom. He was so set on this that He even made provision for restoration should mankind choose to go the wrong way. It is a terrible thing to think that many of those who were intended to be members of the Kingdom of God decide not to. This shows the seriousness of the spiritual battle going on in the cosmic framework. Jesus has made a way back!
If we understand the ekklesia to be a holy assembly of people, also called the body of Christ, this is not just contained within what we call church. The ekklesia is God’s remnant, a wholy nation and indeed strange in the eyes of the world.
The five-fold ministry takes on a very different perspective than the traditional church framework. If we understand ekklesia to be the nation of God, the ministry gifts that are given for the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry and the edification of the body of Christ, we ought to function in our gifts wherever we are in society. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
Apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers ought to function in their gifts at all times. These gifts are immersed into the particular place of engagement for every person. The gift should be a scent that follows us wherever we go.
It is time to rethink!
